Packing for vacations

I actually enjoy packing for vacations. The anticipation of the upcoming holiday. Planning for it. Preparing for the vacation. Buying new clothes, travel size toiletteries, travel packs and more for the coming holiday. All the excitement that comes with it.

For me, as a former girl guide, with the motto be prepared, I want to make sure I'm prepared for anything. I'd pack in everything but the kitchen sink into my bag. That sink wouldn't budge so I had to leave it behind. :D

For short holidays, I would bring travel size soap, skin care the works. Then my shampoo bottle spilt shampoo all over my luggage ruining my bag. Solid lotion and soaps would be the better bet. Dry them after use, put bag into a container and you don't have to worry about spills in your luggage.

The digital camera is a must. I can turn the family photos into calendars and so many more things once I get back home.

A holiday in another country would prompt me to bring a travel wallet that contains my credit card and cash in that country's currency. Some emergency cash would be kept in a pouch worn under my clothes.

Then there is the luggage and that all important luggage lock. Going travelling, checking in your luggage without a lock is really dumb. Who knows what someone could sneak into your bag.

then there are the leather pouches that you can wear to carry your important things and which would leave your hands free.
